The monthly newsletter for the First Presbyterian Church of Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Please make note of all the “goings on” around Holy Week and Easter because it’s easy to lose sight of the most important Christian celebrations of the year when we are distracted by improving weather and yard work and the desire to finally get outside. The events that we remember during Holy Week are the foundation of our faith; more foundational than even Christmas. The death and resurrection of Christ are recounted in all 4 gospels (unlike Christmas) and are pivotal in Paul’s writing, and according Revelation are key to understanding God’s eternal intentions. So join your church family in remembering what Christ has done for us, and the promises His resurrection offers us. BTW, the Sunrise Service is at Grace Episcopal Church.
Yours in Christ,
Please keep our sick and shut-ins in your prayers: Billie Galloway, Liz Jacobs, Jay Kendall, Margarette Marsden, Juanita Roberts, Frankie Sims, Jim Victory, Helen Wade, and Jean Webster.
The PW invites the women of the church to our monthly Birthday Outing on Wednesday the 9th; we will meet at the church at 11:00 in order to carpool to Puckett’s in Columba.
Chuck Hozeska died on the 28th following a massive stroke from which he never regained full consciousness; Chuck was 79 years old. Sherrie and the rest of the family have asked us to pass along their thanks to the congregation for its hospitality in the reception following Chuck’s funeral; it made everyone feel welcome and comforted in this most difficult time.
We want to thank each of you for all of your love, prayers, support, and food during this time. We appreciate your continued prayers. Sincerely, The Kosiba and Mayo families
The dates for VBS this year have been set for June 24-26 (Tuesday-Thursday) from 9:00am-12:00 noon each day. The theme this year is Trading Places, where the kids will learn about kids in other countries and how they live and worship God. Also, we need helpers to sign up for VBS! If you are interested, please contact Anna Johnson or any of the following members of the VBS Committee: Susan Campbell, Claudette Cayton, Rachel Chandler, Jesse Chandler, Naomi Engelman, Angela Lackey, Eliot Mitchell, Kathy Thompson, or Jill Uhrine. There will sign up sheets this Sunday on the bulletin board for both Group and Site Leaders and for volunteers just willing to help in any capacity. The VBS Planning Committee will meet this month on April 14th and April 28th at 7pm in the Daily Life Sunday School room.
We will receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering on Palm Sunday, April 13th. The proceeds of this offering serve people in need through the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger, and Self-Development of People programs. Please prayerfully consider supporting people who truly need our Christian support.
